Hamid Roslan is a poet and essayist whose work moves between asemic mark-making, translation, and drawing, treating the page as a meeting place for language(s) and line. His poetry and essays complicate inherited ideas of Malayness shaped by British colonial stereotype and the postcolonial nations of Malaysia and Singapore. He is the co-editor of The Second Link: An Anthology of Malaysian & Singaporean Writing (Marshall Cavendish Editions, 2023), and the author of in all the places I could not find you (2022) and parsetreeforestfire (Ethos Books, 2019), a finalist for the Singapore Literature Prize. He holds an MFA in Writing from Pratt Institute.
